WELCOME TO ML INTERIOR DESIGN
WE’RE SO EXCITED TO BE WORKING WITH YOU
From here, our job is to make the design process feel clear, inspiring and beautifully organised. We’ll take the time to understand how you live, what matters to you and how you want your home to feel, then translate that into a design that feels uniquely yours.
There will be decisions along the way, but you won’t be navigating them alone. We’ll guide you through each stage, keep you informed and take care of the details behind the scenes.
You bring the vision. We’ll bring the expertise, structure and detail.
Welcome to ML Interior Design. We can’t wait to get started.

Melissa is your main point of contact throughout your project.
Let’s Keep Things Simple
To keep everything organised, we ask that project communication stays via email wherever possible. We avoid text and WhatsApp so that conversations, decisions and approvals are all kept safely in one place and our team can stay across your project.
You’ll hear from us throughout each stage with clear updates on what’s happening, what we need from you and what comes next.

Your Design Journey
-
We get to know you, your lifestyle, your home and your vision. This becomes the foundation for the design.
-
We translate your brief into a clear creative direction, including your aesthetic, palette, materials and inspiration.
-
The ideas become tangible. Depending on your project, this may include furniture and styling, joinery, colour selections, finishes, fixtures, plans and detailed design development.
-
You’ll have two rounds of revisions included in your design package at each applicable stage, allowing us to refine the design together before moving forward.
-
Once everything is approved, we prepare the drawings, schedules and specifications required to bring the design to life.
-
For furniture and styling projects, we manage the ordering process, liaise with suppliers and keep you updated as your pieces move into production and delivery.
And then the really exciting part: watching your home come to life.
Who Does What?
Our Job
We’ll lead the design, develop the concept, research and select products and finishes, prepare documentation where included, coordinate our team and keep your project moving.
Where included in your package, we’ll also manage furniture procurement and supplier communication.
Most importantly, we’ll guide you through the decisions.
Your Job
We ask that you:
Share your vision and be open about what you love and don’t love
Review information and provide feedback when requested
Make decisions within the agreed timeframe
Provide any information or approvals we need
Keep us updated if anything changes
You don’t need to know the design answers.
That’s why you hired us.
BEFORE WE BEGIN
You don’t need to arrive with all the answers.
Instead, start thinking about how you want your home to feel.
What do you love? What frustrates you about your current home? How do you live? What do you want more of? What would make everyday life feel easier, calmer or simply more beautiful?
Bring us all of that.
We’ll take care of the rest.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
At each review stage, we’ll let you know exactly what to review. Where possible, you can comment directly on your documents by clicking on the relevant area and leaving a note.
This helps us see exactly what you’re referring to and keeps feedback clear.
-
Your package includes two rounds of revisions at each applicable design stage.
These are your opportunities to refine the design and make sure everything feels right before we move forward.
-
If you’d like to make further changes after your two included rounds, additional design time will be charged at our hourly design rate.
The more detail you can give us during your initial consultation and review stages about your lifestyle, preferences and vision, the more accurately we can interpret your brief from the beginning.
You don’t need to know exactly what you want. Honest feedback is what helps us get there.
-
That’s completely normal during the design process. If something doesn’t feel right, tell us.
Where a change is made after a stage has been approved or outside your included revision rounds, additional design time may apply.
We’d always rather you speak up than settle for something you’re not sure about.
-
Absolutely.
If you see a home, piece of furniture, colour, material or image that makes you stop scrolling, send it through. It helps us understand what you’re naturally drawn to.
-
That’s where our expertise comes in.
You don’t need to have all the answers. Tell us what you’re unsure about and we’ll guide you towards the option that best suits your home, lifestyle and overall design.
-
If it relates to our design documentation, send it through and we’ll clarify the design intent where appropriate.
Your builder remains responsible for construction, site measurements, installation and site management.
-
Please keep us updated if your build or renovation timeline shifts.
Lead times can vary, particularly for custom or made-to-order pieces, so knowing about changes early helps us plan accordingly.

It happens. Suppliers can discontinue products, sell through stock or change lead times.
If this occurs, we’ll let you know and recommend an alternative that works with the overall design and preserves the original intent as closely as possible.
